Massive galaxy cluster collision sent a shock wave 1 million light-years through space

Two galaxy clusters collided, creating a massive shock wave stretching out over 1.6 million light-years long. NASA’s Chandra X-ray Observatory spotted the shock wave earlier this month. NASA says that these galactic collisions unleash vast amounts of energy. Additionally, it could help us better understand some of the physics that make up our solar system.

Scientists discovered the most powerful pulsar ever traveling at a million mph

Scientists have discovered a pulsar ripping through space at over a million miles per hour. Researchers used NASA’s Chandra X-ray Observatory to image the source of the pulsar, G292.0+1.8 in 2006 and 2016 to measure the pulsar’s speed. Scientists believe this pulsar could help us better understand how pulsars accelerate to such high speeds.
